Ronnie F. Craig

In January 1998, Ronnie helped establish Clawson & Staubes’ North Carolina office in Charlotte. He practices regularly in both North and South Carolina in state and federal courts.

 

Ronnie is licensed to practice in North Carolina, South Carolina and Arkansas. He is also admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, and the Western and Middle Districts of North Carolina. He is a member of the North Carolina State Bar Association, Mecklenburg County Bar, Arkansas Bar Association, South Carolina Bar Association, North Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association, and North Carolina Bar Foundation. He is also approved as a continuing education instructor by the North Carolina Department of Insurance.

 

Ronnie grew up in Baton, North Carolina. He graduated from St. Andrews Presbyterian College in 1982 with a bachelor degree in chemistry and philosophy. In 1986, he graduated from law school at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where he served on the law review.

 

After law school, Ronnie entered the U.S. Navy. At the conclusion of officer’s training and Naval Justice School, he served as a U.S. Navy JAG Corps Officer. His tours of duty included service in the operational Atlantic and Pacific fleets. Between 1988-89, Ronnie served as a staff judge advocate for commander, Submarine Squadron 18 (SUBRON 18) and commanding officer, U.S.S. Holland (AS-32), based out of Charleston. He was then ordered to serve in the Pacific during the Persian Gulf War.

 

During his tenure, he served as the staff judge advocate for commanding officer U.S. Naval Air Station Agana, Guam and assistant staff judge advocate for commander U.S. Naval Forces Marianas. Ronnie was also appointed special assistant U.S. Attorney by the Justice Department, where he prosecuted cases between 1990-91. At the conclusion of the Persian Gulf War, Ronnie and his wife returned to the United States and he joined Clawson & Staubes in May 1992.

 

Ronnie lives in Huntersville with his wife, Joanne, and their three children, Billy, Ben and Emily. He is a huge North Carolina Tarheel fan and enjoys coaching football and baseball, playing piano and guitar, singing and calligraphy.
