Ron practices in the area of commercial law and bankruptcy, and is a certified specialist in bankruptcy and debtor-creditor law, receiving the specialist distinction from the South Carolina Supreme Court. He has also served on the specialization committee for bankruptcy and debtor creditor law.
Ron is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association=s bankruptcy law section, the South Carolina Bankruptcy Law Association, the Commercial Law League, the American Bankruptcy Institute, as well as other professional organizations related to his practice areas. Ron has lectured and served as a panelist on numerous commercial law, bankruptcy, debtor-creditor law and lender liability matters.
Ron has an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell and is one of 12 bankruptcy specialists in the Charleston area.
Ron worked at the Supreme Court of the United States from 1979 to 1983 in various positions, including personal assistant to Chief Justice Warren E. Burger. He is admitted to practice in South Carolina and North Carolina, and in all state and federal courts in those states.
Ron graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in political science. He received his master degree in public policy/legislative affairs from George Washington University and a juris doctorate from Campbell University School of Law.
Ron is a past board and executive committee member for the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce. He is a charter member of Business Advocating Change Political Action Committee (BACPAC) and served as its chairman from 2003 to 2005. He has served on numerous other committees and task forces of the chamber, and is currently chair of the Infrastructure Committee.
