Michael J. Kitson

After working for more than 10 years as a software designer and developer, Michael attended Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware, graduating in 1996 with a Juris Doctorate degree. Following law school, Michael and his family relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, where he began his new career as a trial lawyer. He has tried cases throughout western North Carolina, focusing on insurance defense with a specialty in the area of motor vehicle negligence.

 

Michael is a member of the North Carolina State Bar and the Mecklenburg County Bar, as well as the Bar of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina. He is also a member of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys and the North Carolina Bar Association. He is approved as a continuing education instructor by the North Carolina Department of Insurance.

 

Michael was born and raised in New Jersey, where he attended Rutgers University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science.

 

He lives in Waxhaw with his wife, Nancy, and their three children, Kelly, Michael and Courtney.
