Following law school, Andy returned to Charleston and joined a small general practice firm handling plaintiff’s personal injury, domestic, and construction claims. As his practice matured, he zeroed in on construction matters. He joined Clawson & Staubes in 1987, and practices in state courts and federal district courts in matters involving construction collections and defense of construction defect claims.
Andy specializes in claims including third-party negligence, warranty, unfair trade practice, and UCC warranty claims involving roofing, cladding, and structural failures in buildings and marine structures. He is experienced in first-party bad faith and flood insurance claims, construction collections including mechanic’s lien claims, bond claims in state court and Miller Act claims in federal court. He also focuses on premises liability claims, boundary disputes and quiet title actions.
Andy is a member of the South Carolina Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina.
Andy was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. He attended Baptist College at Charleston, where he earned a Bachelors degree in business administration, suma cum laude in 1978.
