Following law school, Andy relocated to Asheville, North Carolina and began his career as a trial lawyer practicing in the defense of personal injury cases. During that time, he tried cases throughout the Western North Carolina in state, federal and tribal courts. He has also appeared before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the North Carolina Court of Appeals. In 2004, Andy joined the Charlotte office of Clawson & Staubes.
Andy is a member of the North Carolina State Bar and the Mecklenburg County Bar. He is also admitted to the bar associations of the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. He is a member of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys and the North Carolina Bar Association. He is approved as a continuing education instructor by the North Carolina Department of Insurance.
Andy grew up in High Point, North Carolina, and graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1991 with a bachelor degree in history. He attended Wake Forest University School of Law, where he received his juris doctorate degree in 1996.
Andy lives in Matthews with his wife and two children. He enjoys sports, camping and history.
