Alex attended the University of South Carolina Honors College and graduated magna cum laude with honors with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, specifically Broadcast Journalism. She earned her Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law in 2017 and graduated cum laude. While in law school, Alex was active in CSOL’s moot court and trial advocacy programs, winning awards for oral advocacy at several regional and national competitions, including the American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition.
Prior to joining Clawson & Staubes, Alex served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jennifer B. McCoy, Circuit Court Judge At-Large Seat 9, in Charleston. Before practicing law, Alex spent several years as television news anchor, producer, and reporter.
When she is not in the office, Alex enjoys spending time with her family and cocker spaniel, exploring Charleston’s food scene, and traveling.
