Tom Hollowell was born and raised in Connecticut. He received his B.A. from the University of Rhode Island in 2010, where he double-majored in Economics and Political Science. Tom graduated cum laude from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2013. During law school, he served as Publication Editor of the Quinnipiac Health Law Journal, interned at the Connecticut Attorney General’s Office, and worked as a research assistant to several law professors.
Upon graduating law school, Tom worked at a mid-sized creditors’ rights firm representing national banks and loan servicers in foreclosure litigation, default servicing and compliance in Rhode Island and Massachusetts state and federal courts. He quickly transitioned his practice to insurance defense and insurance coverage litigation, working first at a small firm and then at one of Connecticut’s largest firms. Tom has significant experience with automobile, premises and product liability matters, as well as insurance coverage, extra-contractual/bad-faith litigation, and litigation of uninsured/underinsured motorist and first party property matters. Tom relocated to Charleston in 2019 and was admitted to the South Carolina bar the same year.
Outside of the office, Tom enjoys playing tennis, reading, eating excellent food and spending time with his family.
